A New Venture

Many of you may not know, but for the past several months Daddy Spooner, Little Spooner and I have been living with my in-laws since we made the trek back to civilization. The job that took us to Wyoming ended, and we decided that it was time to go back where we belonged. It has been a long road for Daddy Spooner (who is in the radio personality business) to find a new job. It is sometimes hard for people to undertand what takes so long, but when I say that there is 1 job and 300 people apply for that 1 job, it is not an exaggeration. So approximately 4 months into the job search Daddy Spooner was offered a job in Jamestown, NY (right near Lake Chataqua). It was a great opportunity for him, a bigger market than where he was before, and on a KISS FM station. With some deliberation he took the job and worked there under wraps for about a week and a half. He had previously applied for a job with the new Sports Talk station starting in Cleveland and never heard back. A little bird inspired him to apply again, and after wrestling with the idea, he decided to apply for it again. Within 48 hours he heard back and was offered a job right in our own backyard!
I think the only people more excited than I was, were our parents, who for sure were not looking forward to loosing Little Spooner again (even though it was only 2.5 hours away). I think she has just brought so much joy to their lives, being so available for sleepovers and movie dates, and swim parties. They love showing her off, and believe me, she eats up the attention!
So Daddy Spooner got a job with the new 92.3 The Fan (WKRK). It is the opportunity of his lifetime (a CBS company), and not to mention his dream job! When he first decided to go into radio it was because I knew he could do just as good a job if not better than the guys who were already on the sports station. While it is not as enjoyable for me to listen to (no music means no singing in the car), it is still great to hear him and know that this is where he is supposed to be. All the prayers have been answered and we are expecting a lot of exciting things to come from this opportunity! I am so proud!!
So keep your radio dials to 92.3 (atleast while Daddy Spooner is on!)
